HEIBRiDS (Helmholtz International Berlin Research School in Data Science) is an interdisciplinary doctoral program combining Data Science and other scientific disciplines! The goal is to educate a generation of data scientists, who understand the demands and challenges of disciplines in which Data Science is a necessity. HEIBRiDS is established jointly between the Helmholtz Association and BIFOLD (Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data).

Focus

HEIBRiDS brings together five Helmholtz centers and partners of BIFOLD, all working at the intersection of databases and data mining, machine learning, network science, statistics and statistical physics, information retrieval, applied mathematics, and analyses of complex networks. The interdisciplinary nature of the program requires two supervisors: one from a Helmholtz center and one from a university partner.

Collaborating Helmholtz centers include AWIDESYGFZHZB, and MDC. BIFOLD is based at Technische Universität Berlin and institutional partner is the Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin.
