Two of the main focus areas of Technische Universität Berlin are data science and integrated mathematical modelling, with applications in engineering and natural sciences. To support this line of research, Berlin International Graduate School in Model and Simulation based Research, BIMoS, was founded in 2014 as a highly interdisciplinary graduate school at TU Berlin. BIMoS provides an international highly recognized and vivid research environment with supervision by an interdisciplinary team as well as a selection of lectures and events.

Focus

BIMoS focuses on data science, data-based modelling with applications ranging from life sciences over information technology to engineering as well as their optimization.

Call for Applications: BIMoS PhD Award for the Best PhD Thesis in the field of Model and Simulation based Research The Berlin International Graduate School in Model and Simulation based Research (BIMoS) would like to honour the best dissertation among the TU doctoral students, who have completed their doctorate in 2022 on a topic within the area of Model and Simulation based Research. The aim is to highlight outstanding achievements of a young researcher at the start of their scientific career.

Please submit your application between 1st August and 30th October 2023 to office@bimos.tu-berlin.de

The following documents should be included:

  • A short letter of motivation referring to Model and Simulation based Research
  • Abstract and PhD thesis
  • Doctoral certificate or
  • Preliminary certification for obtaining the academic degree
  • Evaluation report of the doctorate

In case of questions please send an email to: office@bimos.tu-berlin.de

The PhD Award will be presented at the next BIMoS General Assembly during a small BIMoS celebration.
